How big is baby: 40 weeks | 6 lbs 11 oz
Verse that I am clinging to: you are peace, you are peace when my fear is crippling / you are true, you are true even in my wandering / you are joy, you are joy you’re the reason that I sing / you are life, you are life in you death has lost its sting
How I’m feeling: Sleepy (although in this moment I just had a random burst of energy and cleaned up our house) and in love.
Symptoms: eczema is leaving, heartburn is gone! Joy.
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: Super thirsty and eat all the things.
Weight gain/loss: I am at least 7 lbs. 5 oz. lighter, although I have eaten an impressive amount of food and consumed an impressive amount of Dr. Pepper in the last 72 hours.
Sleep: Sleep is the best. I am thoroughly enjoying the weird relationship he and I share where when we are together we both become narcoleptic. I had to enlist Marshall to help me stay awake while I was feeding him yesterday because within minutes I am nodding off, which is a hoot because the lactation lady at the hospital had to show me how to keep him awake during feedings. Now Marshall just keeps us all awake. If he starts to get sleepy we may have to get a husky to help us…
Movement: Little guy loves to be swaddled and (as I suspected) keeps his hands by his head at all times. He was a finger sucker but has since moved on to bigger and better things (like a cute monkey paci). When free from his swaddle his arms and legs go crazy! He loves to sleep on his side curled up which looks strikingly like the bulge that hung out on the right side of my belly.
Best moment of the week: Seeing little guy’s face for the first time.
What I’m loving: Snuggles. Baby faces. Baby noises (although crying is my least favorite, even though his cries are so cute and quite polite).
What I’m looking forward to: our life.
