How big is baby: 33 weeks | the size of a cauliflower blossom ~4.25 lbs.
Verse that I am clinging to: not a verse, but I’ve had this Hillsong song on repeat in my head and iPhone all week This is love / Jesus came and died and gave His life for us / Let our voices rise and sing for all He’s done / Our fear is overcome / Our God is love / Our God is love; lately I’ve just been getting anxious about what is to come (hello labor & delivery and then immediate motherhood!) and I feel like God has always delivered (no pun intended). He has always provided what I needed when I needed it the most, when it counted the most and I don’t believe that this is going to be an exception. He has done so much!
How I’m feeling: Sleepy and big. I waddle now.
Symptoms: heartburn (Zantac, you da man); eczema (flared all up again); swelling in hands and feet; had some icky feelings last week and called the doctor, they had me come in and my blood pressure was a little higher than my baseline, not my favorite pregnancy symptom so far; undeniable love for cheese; my feet both grew (bought some flats in a size 8 this weekend… I used to wear a 6.5!) and disappeared from my line of sight. I have to actively look for them to see them over the belly. Also, belly button is an outie, after being half in, half out for several weeks, Lincoln finally gave it one swift kick and it’s outta there.
Weight gain/loss: Well, I have no idea, but after my declaration several times up there about cheese, I might just plead the fifth on this for the next few weeks.
Sleep: Sleep is weird. I have been going to bed a little earlier and waking up around 5am wide awake, weekend or not. It is quite strange. According to my sister it is all part of the prep, my body is getting ready! Up and down a few times, I think we’ve figured out the temperature (much over 71 = immediately swelling/waking) and the dogs have been pretty good about sleeping all night.
Exercise: Not so much, I’ve had a fair amount of swelling in my feet so when I am not walking around at work I am sitting down with my feetsies up drinking water.
Movement: I can definitely feel little guy’s head lower, which is pretty exciting. It is also pretty strange to feel what is undeniably a hand rubbing my pelvic bone, from the inside. Lately he’s been a little sideways and kicks me on my right side where I am super ticklish on the outside. This has been most interesting, because it illicits the same “OH MY GOSH DON’T TICKLE ME” feeling I get when tickled from the outside…except it is on the inside.
Best moment of the week: This was a great weekend. Marshall was out of town playing bass with a band from church (which makes me heart sing, love that he gets to do fun stuff that he loves!) so we boarded the dogs and I spent Saturday shopping (it was crazy! I bought all kinds of stuff for myself! For the first time in a long time!) and went to spend the day with my sister and nephews. Sunday, Marshall’s mom threw a shower for us at their church in Hillsborough which was great fun. I am so grateful for that wonderful group of people that Marshall grew up with and that they’ll get to see Lincoln grow up! Also so grateful for Gigi (not sure how we spell it, G.G.? Short for Grandma Gayle). She is just a superstar. Best mom in law ever.
What I’m looking forward to: So very many things. Our small group has our Smallgroupsgiving this Thursday (the 3rd anniversary of our joining!) where we will get to eat yummy food and hang out with wonderful people; this weekend Marshall and I are presenting at an iPad conference in Raleigh (separate sessions, although some day I will talk him into a joint session!); we have all of next week OFF for Thanksgiving where we plan to put finishing touches on Baby L’s room because Sunday we have our official big belly maternity pictures with Stephanie before I am a swollen, puffy, 10 months pregnant hot mess lady. This must be the part where it goes by fast! I am so excited for pictures. I have a dress that I almost wore to our wedding ($20 at Nordstrom rack) that has been in my closet since then that I am going to wear for some of them. So. Excited. Still on the hunt for a shirt to wear for the rest, I have an idea of what I am looking for but I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a maternity shirt that I’ll only be wearing a few more weeks…
