How big is baby: 27 weeks | the size of a bunch of bananas
Verse that I am clinging to: You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for Your Word to renew me. Psalm 119:114
How I’m feeling: So, very, very, very tired. Something happened to my 2nd trimester magical energy and all I want to do is sleep.
Symptoms: eczema, heartburn, exhaustion. My doc called yesterday and said my iron was low (duh, totally had that prior to pregnancy, not sure why that didn’t occur to me sooner). Wondering if my newfound narcolepsy is to blame on low-iron?
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: I’ve really been craving meat and cold ice water. Overall, still love all food. Not hating all the pumpkin flavored things 🙂
Weight gain/loss: weighed in on Wednesday at 147.8. My doctor said the weight is good (she was super excited actually, “GREAT JOB! Your weight is awesome!”), but that is a number that I have never seen before. Next time I am taking my shoes off…
Sleep: Super sleepy-head all the time, nighttime sleep is good except for waking up often to use the bathroom. I get so thirsty at nighttime and it haunts me all night long.
Exercise: Still not exercising like I should! Now that it is cooler I want to walk everyday with the puppies. Hoping I can make this more of a priority than it has been for me in the coming weeks.
Movement: His movement patterns seem to change week to week. Thursday and Friday he was super active in the morning, so much so my whole belly was shaking like a literal, bowl full of jelly. I was at a workshop next to strangers and had to fight the urge to be like, “did you see that?!” Right now he is laying sideways and kicks and punches on both sides of my belly at the same time. His feet are getting closer and closer to my ribs. At times it is hard to breathe sitting down, depending on where he is. My favorite kicks are in the morning time that seem to say, “wake up, mom!”
Best moment of the week: Today we had our first baby shower at my sister’s house in Durham. She and my sister in law-law, Jamie, planned a spectacular adventure themed shower for us. It was absolutely perfect and so much fun. It was so great to have so many dear friends and family members in the same place, feeling so grateful today!
What I’m loving: The baby’s room is coming together! Marshall is putting the finishing touches on the baseboard and quarter round so soon it will be time to assemble the crib, dresser and start hanging things on the walls. Getting so ready to hold this sweet baby in my arms in his room. In our house.
What I’m looking forward to: The next few months are super busy with weddings, showers, birthdays, holidays (!!) and more!
