Heather + Marius | engagement

One of my dearest friends from high school is getting married! This girl and I just hit it off at some point, probably in chorus class, and have somehow kept it together throughout the years. She is one of those friends that I can’t really remember a time where she wasn’t my friend, and no matter how long we go in between “catch ups” it’s like no time has passed at all. She and I have always been kindred spirits, in that we do our own thing and have a heart for adventure! She went far away to Minnesota for college initially but found her way back to NC and met sweet Marius. He is a native German, and after graduation from ECU and getting married they plan to move to Germany! I am inclined to say that I will miss Heather a lot, but we always seem to keep in touch. She asked if I would be willing to take pictures at their backyard wedding next month and after lots of rescheduling we were finally able to get together for some engagement pictures a few weeks ago. We met in downtown Raleigh with plans to have dinner at Remedy Diner (favorite!) and spent a little while galavanting around downtown and making a stop at the Haywood House, a new favorite for sure. There is just not much more that is happy making than seeing someone you have cared about for a long time in love. As happy as I am that these two are going to be on a big adventure together, part of me would love to see them settle here in Raleigh so we can see each other more often. Oh well, guess we’ll have to take a family vacation to Germany in the future. Oh, darn. Well, I am just so excited to photograph their wedding in a little less than a month, and to see my sweet husband officiate a wedding ceremony for the first time! It is going to be so great, we are so honored.
