How big is baby: 16w4d | the size of a dill pickle
Verse that I am clinging to: “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5-16-18
How I’m feeling: good, overall! Work is keeping me busier than I’d like to be, but the end is in sight!
Symptoms: eczema, still. itchies all over. heartburn when I eat anything seasoned with pretty much anything.
Diet/Cravings/Aversions: as of today I noticed that I didn’t mind the smell of the fridge! It literally went away overnight, hope it doesn’t come back! I also drank some fridge water and it tasted like water. I am enjoying pretty much all food, and whatever I am eating in that moment is THE BEST of whatever that thing is. My tastebuds are super excited to be alive these days. Today I actually thought about Thanksgiving food more than once, so there may be some deviled eggs and sweet potato casserole in my future soon (that sounds so good, oh my gosh).
Weight gain/loss: I’m still somewhere in the low 130s I think, my scale at home has me at 131.8 so we’ll see what the doctor says on Thursday.
Sleep: I am finding it increasingly difficult to sleep through the night these days, between all the itching and potty trips. Also, I am freezing when I fall asleep but then wake up sweating, so who knows? I think this is the new normal for the next few years. I did take Benadryl the past two nights and that led to some fabulous sleep…
Exercise: Missed yoga this weekend (needed to rest after the first week of school) and literally baked a strawberry pie instead. Went walking today on top of doing lots of cleaning, moving feels so good!
Movement: I am definitely feeling some pokes and punches from the little pickle, especially around 9:30-10pm at night. This has been happening consistently for the past week, but I can tell they are getting stronger!
Best moment of the week: Last night we had dinner with our friends Lauren & Tim who are expecting their first little one just a few weeks after us! Lauren is an amazing cook and she and Tim are so much fun to hang out with! We talked baby stuff, house stuff, played Settlers of Catan and had a great time. I’m really looking forward to having new parent friends in this adventure. Most of the people we know with kids are having number 2 right now, so I think having another first time mom friend is going to be so great.
What I’m loving: Love feeling little baby movement. It is feeling more and more real every day and I am getting so eager to know if we are cooking a little boy or girl. My gut has told me girl from the beginning so we will see just how accurate that mommy instinct of mine is.
What I’m looking forward to: Marshall has started doing some projects around the house and soon we’ll start working on the floors upstairs and getting things done for the baby’s room. We also have a photo session planned for the Saturday after we have our ultrasound for some fun pictures and are going to tell family on that Sunday.
