I was catching up on my sweet friend Stephanie’s blog the other day, and saw where she nominated me for a Liebster Blog Award. Which I just saw. Yesterday. She nominated me on June 2. In all fairness, I was crazy and finishing a school year, but hey, now I saw it and now I am paying it forward! Here is the scoop on the Liebster Award.
Here’s my Q & A from Stephanie:
1. What is the most exciting thing in your life right now?
EVERYTHING! I have a new job which is new and exciting everyday. I also have an old parttime job that I love doing online course development and we are starting a new project which is always exciting. I am enjoying that a lot.
2. If you could hang out for a day with one person from past, present or future who would it be?
My great grandmother Callie Shue Deaton. She was a classy lady. Or Katy Perry.
3. Why did you choose the person you did from question #2?
She was super sassy and made the best banana pudding of all time. And Katy Perry is just a super cool person.
4. If you suddenly won the lottery, what would you do with all the money?
Pay off all our debt, pay off all my sister’s debt, pay off all my parent’s debt and then build our dream house. And invite everyone over for a cookout.
5. What is your inspiration for blogging?
I am too lazy for scrapbooking, and I’ve always blogged. I had a Xanga, then a LiveJournal, then I blogged on MySpace, then on Facebook Notes and then I started a blogspot in 2007 which has turned into my married tumblr. The age of smartphones makes it way too easy. I like to think of it as digital scrapbooking. And maybe someday I’ll be motivated to organize it all to a blog book. Someday.
6. What is your favorite post you have ever written?
I think my recap from our trip to NYC in 2011 which was about our engagement. One of the happiest moments of my life and I was so excited to write about it. Or, the time Luna peed in her food bowl. That made me laugh so hard.
7. What is your favorite piece of technology?
If I had to choose one I’d choose my iPhone. My life is on there. Bible app. Alarm clock. Calendar. Meal plan. Recipes. iCloud holds docs for work. Email. Texting. Pictures. Really, everything is on there. If we are being technical, iCloud sends all of that stuff to my iPad and Macbook and iMac too… I love it all.
8. Where would you like to visit if you ever got the chance?
I have a ton of friends in Taiwan from 3 summers of working with students from a private school in Taipei and I almost took a job teaching English there after graduation. I want to visit my friends, the FuHsing school and go to the ‘Night Market’. I also hear karaoke is very popular there, which I would love a lot.
9. What is your favorite indulgence?
Venti 6 pump chai (extra hot) and a cheese danish (warmed, please)from Starbucks. Gluten + dairy need not matter.
10. What is your favorite memory?
Growing up as a kid we had a hammock in the backyard and I remember one afternoon waking up from a nap in that hammock with my dad and having no recollection of falling asleep. I remember feeling awesome. I was probably 5 or 6. That memory just captures my favorite part of being a kid, being outside, spending time with my daddy and nothing to do in an afternoon but take a nap in a hammock.
11. Who is your role model?
My big sister. Growing up she was always a super creative, unique and caring person so I always tried to be like her. As we’ve gotten older I’ve seen her turn into a wonderful wife and now an even more awesome mom. That is the beauty of having a big sister, I think, you always have someone to show you the ropes.
Thanks for the nomination, Stephanie. I am so grateful for your friendship!
