colorful fall

Marshall gave me memory for my birthday.
That is so like him, giving me something I really didn’t know that I wanted (er…needed) until he gave it to me and I now don’t know what I would have done without it before. Basically, I am taking so many (huge) pictures these days iPhoto ’08 wasn’t really cooperating… but now, thanks to the new GBs and the update to iLife ’09, it is opening and editing pictures faster than ever. And it’s not even my birthday yet. So if you see him, make sure to tell him thanks. 🙂
And all of a sudden, it is fall. Over fall break I was keeping my eyes peeled looking for the changing leaves, and they were barely un-green. This week I was so busy and didn’t notice until today that they are changing and beautiful. Being busy sucks, but it’s good, fun stuff. Not as fun as other stuff I could be doing instead of being busy, but it’s fun. This week was super exciting, I did my first observation in my official student-teaching classroom. It was pretty eye-opening and a good intro to what next semester will bring (read: CHALLENGES). The next two weeks are pretty epic, both academically and extracurricularly, so once it’s over I can start preparing for the next task at hand: Praxis II. This week I passed my Spanish proficiency test which is a HUGE answer to prayer. While I’m a pretty competent speaker (and often bold enough to start conversations with anyone I hear speaking Spanish) there are definitely a lot of things I don’t know, but I feel like they’ll come with time and practice. But, with that out of the way, I can focus on the Praxis which will happen sometime in January and then the internship begins.
And by the way, my friends are wonderful.
Cornhuskin’, I love you, but I miss weekly dinners with my friends.
But yeah, happy fall.
